Mark Barad, MD, PhDMark G. Barad, M.D., Ph.D. is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is the recipient of National Institutes of Health Medical Scientist Training Program, Young Investigator Award from the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression, and the Forest Junior Faculty Research Award from the West Coast College of Biological Psychiatry. He is also a Tennenbaum Scholar from the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Barad's research has investigated the cellular basis of learning and memory, especially understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the extinction of Pavlovian fear conditioning. His current research and writing further explores the development of adjunctive treatments to accelerate and facilitate the behavioral psychotherapy of anxiety disorders. In addition to his research and teaching, Dr. Barad has supervised at the UCLA Anxiety Disorders Clinic and the UCLA General Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic. He also has a private practice as a psychiatrist. |
