Conference Scholarships

Availability

Limited FPR-UCLA Scholarships are available for:

Current UCLA Graduate Students and Postdocs in Anthropology, Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences/Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, Psychology, FPR-UCLA CBD
Current Graduate Students and Postdocs,who are members of FPR Program for Culture, Brain, Development, and Mental Health (CBDMH) from UCLA, USC, and McGill University

Eligibility

Conference Scholarship Eligibility will be based upon “closeness of fit” of applicants’ academic and research backgrounds and achievements, and current work or studies relevant to our conference topic. Please provide a brief paragraph describing your research interests, current work or studies that are relevant to the conference topic, why you would like to attend the conference, and how it would be useful to you, as well as your current curriculum vita.

We will refund the $135 Conference Registration Fee at the end of the conference. You must attend all 2 days of the conference in order to be eligible for a refund. Applying for a Conference “Scholarship”

If you wish to apply for a refund of the $135 conference registration fee at the end of the conference, please complete the following steps:

Step 1: Registration

Conference scholarship application materials must be received at UCLA CTO by June 15, 2015. At the UCLA Central Ticket Office (James West Alumni Center), you must complete the following:

Show and submit a photocopy of your current UCLA, USC, or McGill University photo ID card.
Special Payment/Registration Form (Click here to download the Payment/Registration Form)
Fill out and submit a special payment registration form for Conference “Scholarship” Applicants. Pay the early conference registration fee of $135 (student rate) and the nonrefundable CTO service fee ($6). You may pay by check or credit card:
1. Pay by check: Please write a check or money order for $135 payable to UC Regents. The CTO service fee ($6) must be paid separately. Keep your payment receipt from the CTO as your proof of payment. You may pay by check either in person at UCLA CTO ticket window, or by mail: UCLA Central Ticket Office, PO Box 24607, Los Angeles, CA 90024-0607.
2. Pay by credit card: Please submit, by FAX (310) 206-7540 or (310) 825-9265, a completed payment registration form, to include your credit card information. The CTO service fee ($6) must be paid separately. Keep your payment receipt from the CTO as your proof of payment.
The sign-up sheet for Conference “Scholarship”/Refund Applicants who apply in person at UCLA CTO: Enter your name and email on the Sign-up Sheet for Conference Refund Applicants. For those with double majors, please enter one department only.
Submit your completed Conference Pre-Registration Form to the CTO (Click here to download the Pre-Registration Form) respectively. (Note: This is different from the Payment/Registration Form above).

Step 2: Submit a CV

Submit a copy of your current curriculum vita and brief summary of your academic and research background and achievements online by June 15, 2015.

The curriculum vita must include information about your educational background (completed, earned academic degrees, and/or academic degrees in progress), research publications, research presentations, and other achievements, and current work or studies that are relevant to the conference topic.

Please include a brief paragraph describing your research interests, current work or studies that are relevant to the conference topic, why you would like to attend the conference, and how it would be useful to you, as well as your current curriculum vita.

You will be notified shortly after June 15th if you were selected to receive a conference scholarship.

Step 3: Attend the Conference

Remember, you must attend all 2 days of the conference in order to be eligible for a refund. Please be sure to sign in daily at the conference registration table (there will be a special sign-in sheet for Conference “Scholarship” Applicants), otherwise you will lose your eligibility. You will need to show your current UCLA, USC, or McGill University photo ID at sign-in.

Step 4: Verify Eligibility

On the last day of the conference, we will make a list available of graduate students and postdocs who have completed all the requirements and are eligible for refunds, along with instructions on how to process the refund.
