Paul C. Rosenblatt, PhD

Paul C. Rosenblatt is Morse Alumni Distinguished Teaching Professor of Family Social Science at the University of Minnesota. He was the founder of the Grief and Families Focus Group of the National Council on Family Relations. Rosenblatt was the keynote speaker at the First International Congress on Death and Dying in London and has been elected to membership in the prestigious International Work Group on Death, Dying, and Bereavement. His books on grief include African American Grief (with Beverly Wallace); Parent Grief: Narratives of Loss and Relationship; Help Your Marriage Survive the Death of a Child; and Bitter, Bitter Tears: Nineteenth Century Diaries and Twentieth Century Grief Theories. His recent work on grief includes a study of Zulu widows (with Busisiwe Nkosi), a study of how couple relationships are affected by the death of a parent of one of the partners (with John Barner), and analysis of how couple relationships may change when one of the partners is dying (with Sungeun Yang).
